  1. Aww - thank you, but we won't be going to that (a bit too far form Sheffield!).

  2. Well the offer still stands if we do catch up :) xx

I somehow got into circus skill type stuff when I was still at school and have had a good go at most related stuff, still find myself in summer usually after a drink doing some, unicycling, juggling, (balls/clubs/torches/hammers/knives/axes whatever is to hand) fire blowing, and devil sticking, not all at the same time, but I can juggle clubs whilst unicycling :p Have also done globe walking and a couple of trapeze sessions.

And the other 'hobby' is banger racing, whether its driving or patching a mates car to get it onto the next round.

I'd love to have a go at bee keeping as I love honey.
Unfortuneately I'm highly allergic to bee stings & I guess they're part & parcel of keeping bees.

  7. You could try keeping honey-badgers instead?

  8. Funny you should say that ,last weekend I got stung [doing something I should`nt] and my forehead swelled like elephant-man ,now I have one of those injections you shove in your leg ,just in case...

My passion is gardening and when I am old I am going to keep pigs/hens etc and do "the good life"...bees nooooo...:gnome:

Yes you can if you ever get any honey the past 2 years have been really bad

I have 4 hives and last year didn't get any honey and was even feeding them in June what little they did make i let them keep to try and keep them strong for this year hoping for better weather.

Scotty are you running 2 brood, i was on 1 1/2 and changed to 12x14 this year and found it much easier

    Ice Hockey?
Have you tried street hockey? Great for keeping in training in the off season

  11. Hi Matty,

Followed in my Dads methods he did used to run a little over 100 stocks! Lots of work! He used Commercials.

Always run Commercial Hives with 14x12 brood. Going to try 14x12 supers as well this year I think! I'm feeling strong!

Lost quite a few hives this winter worst on record I think!

  12. Street hockey back when I was 12yrs old. Super fun except when cars interrupted the action... Ice Hockey for a little over a year now. We have many indoor ice rinks here in Northern California so we can get icetime 12 months a year, and still wear shorts and flip flops outside without freezing our butts off!

We used to play on an outdoors basketball court in summer & a local pond in winter, but that was in CT :)
Down here in OZ there's not as many rinks so street hockey it has to be.
    I support the Bruins

  14. Bee keeping sounds like a great hobby - not sure about the stings though. I've heard that no matter how well protected, you always get one or two - do you get used to them after a while?

After a few you do get desensitised to the stings the NHS even does courses for people with are allergic

  17. Growing veg, chicken cuddling, walking, music, making bread, socialising, being with our children, camping, occasional bit of art work though not much these days, reading collecting model campervans ( all types) and Beetles, and other vehicals that we like, with our children. My favourite hobby is though sitting in my shed, man I love sheds

  18. Potholing, its brill. Did a bit of cave diving, but cost a fortune coz you need 2 of everything and it keeps breaking. Climbing gritstone, necky and a good chance of a deckout. Digging for/in caves to find a new one or extend a known cave. Its like mining but your just removing debris that has blocked the passage. A bit of power kiting and generally chucking myself into or off summat.

  19. Not sure about potholing. had a mate who used to do it. Some wonderful sights to be seen underground, but I don't think I'd like squeezing though the tight spaces and risk getting stuck!
