It's back! Well pleased with it, they've done a top job!
Now I've just got to re-trim around the inside of the hole!

  8. Hi I've got the same type of top on my Aussie bus, its off at the moment ready for a refurb and it not bad condition to be honest. The PO stuck it down with tons of silicone, my question is how did you fix yours back on did you use any kind of sealant? nice job by the way:thumbsup:

No sealant mate, the lower part of the pop-top is just fixed with self tappers through the bus roof like the original. Once I've re-trimmed the interior you won't see these.

    Cheers Steve!
He's wax oiled the roof and gutters where the cap sits so hopefully it'll be good for another 40 years.
First trip with the little'un in a few weeks; that should be fun!

    Good luck...

It gets easier. At this age a hammock over front seats are ideal as they can't roll out.

Thought I'd better try the bus today as it's not been started since last Techenders I don't think. It started pretty much before I'd finished turning the key; so happy with that!
If I'd have known the weather was going to be so much better yesterday than today I'd have taken it to the beach instead of the car!

Thinking about it, I reckon it was Southwest Splitz

  18. If you come across any Vw embossed vents let me know as I've repaired, fibreglassed and painted mind last year and frankly it looks marmite

Right, so I munched the clutch on the way back from techenders.
Choice was basically stick a new clutch in or go for a scoobie box. As I already had a NOS scoobie box I'm going down that route.
Box has been shipped off to be built up with the subarugears kit, and the bus is sat with the engine removed at Fellows.
Hopefully be all back together in time for the summer!
