the badge is obviously something someones bodged on, yours should be a 7 inch in white or chrome that you can "see through" the gaps in the letters to see the body colour.
My sprayer has informed me that according to the paint code my van is Madarin not Chrome Yellow... I assumed it was Chrome Yellow as the work that had been done on it had a receipt state Chrome Yellow ! Any of the keen eyed amongst you confirm if the shiny paintwork looks like Chrome Yellow? Good job I'm have it all sprayed !
Can you post up your M code?? It'll tell what colour it was. However where did he get that code from?? Mine is from the states and a different shade. It had paint work down in LA but it's different and paintwork I've done is also different.
Not had chance to get to spray shop to get M Code... Sprayer did txt this through though.... not so Tango anymore
In the yellow/orange colour range a ’77 would have been Marino Yellow (L20A) or Brilliant Orange (L20B). Chrome Yellow isn’t a VW colour, nor is Madarin or Tango or even Mandarin. Looks like yours was mostly Marino Yellow with some Brilliant Orange.

So it does, I stand corrected. Is it a Campmobile special colour? I can’t find a VW colour code for Chrome Yellow.
The paint code on the bulkhead says L27H which according to this is Mandarin. Tango is the name my kids gave to the bus.. but might have to change it to Mandy

Our westy is Marino Yellow (Maringelb) according to the VW sticker inside the drivers door (lhd) with the L20A code..its a June 1977 build date

Also my Indicator Stalk seems to have stopped working (indicators and flasher) hazards work fine.. any idea? Had the wheels powder coated With tyres how it's currently looking with windows back in wheels on etc..
