I am so familiar with that scenario. Except it was just the wife, not me. Eventually we couldn't move and she wouldn't get rid so I came up with a cunning plan. Rent a space in an antique shop and flog it there, she could then buy more stuff from auctions and it sell that too and so all this stuff that "was a bargain" would not pile up in our house. I hoped that would work well, but it just meant our house became full of all the crap that didn't sell! When she finally split there were 3 or 4 rooms where you could barely open the door. I made her take it all with her. Of course at this point it was "Can't you take it to the dump?" Er no actually, you can though, just take it away, you wouldn't let me chuck it when you were here. The irony was also there were literally thousands of "House beautiful" type magazines. I couldn't get her to see that that we could have had a beautiful house if she hadn't filled it with bloody magazines and junk. Makes me quite cross to think about it even 3 years on...

  15. Sorry mate.. I have seen it.. Not sure how that pm me got to the top of that message:)

  18. There still for sale:thumbsup:

  19. It's funny how certain things continue to get your goat, long after the event....in my case, it's more to do with the fact that I allowed myself to put up with stuff, rather than deal with it at the time

That's the nub of it. Bringing up a family requires some give though. :)
