  1. Keep soaking the pin in plus gas then carefully drift it out with a pin punch and a hammer
Mine was the same and it took an hour to remove it

  2. Yes, cheers Para. Spent 20 mins yesterday doing this (minus the plus gas). Will give it a soak in the magic potion and persevere :)

  3. Plus gas is brilliant stuff dude its well worth its money

  4. Sorted out accelerator pedal. Going to collect seats from trimmer on Tuesday morning :), so just tinkering with a few bits and bobs in meantime.

Created and fitted patent-pending Popester-bak mechanism to make it easier to put the RnR back into the seat position:

Hoping he has the rear cushions finished by the weekend so that we have the option to get camping even though furniture is still a few months off.

    Looking good!

I'm just embarking on the front floor painting while the mrs gets on with upholstering our porsche seats... Looking forwards to putting up a couple of photos like these!

  7. Seats look great dude! it coming along nicely!:)

  8. Your lucky if your other half can tackle the seats - it will save you a packet. I will look out for your piccies.

She's done a good job of the door panels so far. Was nervous of the seats, but primarily as they were a bit of an unknown quantity until we took them apart... now she knows how difficult they will be!! ;)

I have faith in her! There's a pic in the "what have you done..," thread of the vinyl cut for the seat bases, but I'll do a proper write up in my build thread (search Landyn) when we make a bit more progress.

  10. It is looking good mate - wish my Mrs was more interested in mucking in, instead of just moaning about how long it is all taking ;-)

  12. Great looking seats. Bet they are comfy! I like the looks of the front now, with the new mats. Ours are rubber around the seats, with a custom floor mat, but I think yours looks more fitting to the Van.

  13. Cheers. Yes, the Recaros are very comfortable.

To be honest, if I was doing the carpet again I would have bought new rubber mats to go under the seat and just had the carpet on the seat sides and the cab floor/walkthrough.

What's wrong with the carpet under the seats?

  15. The outer piece of carpet is flat and doesn't follow the curvy contours - would be very hard to do with a piece of carpet, whereas the rubber mats are specifically moulded to do it. Not a big deal - I have glued the outside edge to the wheelarch but left the inside edge (of the outer carpet) lose so I can check for water puddling underneath. Miss Daisy has a history of being a bit leaky and that was one of the collecting spots, but I hope my new plastic membranes under the doorcards will keep her dry from now on.

Cool... I've been pondering this issue as my doors are crap... the drivers side has been modded for air con along the bottom edge! I've been thinking that the carpets in the front of mine will be a long time coming unless I come up with a useful bodge on the doors that includes a plastic sheets and a bit of double sided tape somewhere! As above, the Mrs would like to see carpet in there now, but it's false economy if they're mouldy by Christmas!

  17. Popestar, like the seats ! And personally I like the carpet as it gives a warmer feel to the cab. The mats are probably better for the fit and cleaning but the carpet looks better imho.

  18. Certainly worth making sure your doors won't let water in - I found I had a big leak on the drivers side I didn't know about that was collecting underneath the rubber underseat mat. I bought some heavy duty poly and used my door cards as templates to make new poly membranes that I stuck on with double sided tape all around. Also used a Paul Weeding tip (he posted a good thread) and made a second poly flap which fits first through the hole in the inner door skin and acts as a kind of water deflector as it drops through.

Keeping my fingers crossed that area stays dry.

  19. Cheers Lofty - carpet is certainly a bit more attractive - provided it stays dry :)
