Super excited. We're picking up May Bell tomorrow. She's been out for restoration since February. It's a big surprise for the wife as she thinks that all I've had done is fix an oil leak on the engine which needed a complete strip down and fix the gear box. She has no idea about the resto
That interior looks gorgeous, both the trimming and the woodwork. Good taste: I hope your wife appreciates it!
Is that Jeremy Clarkson ? Good to see hes found a new job, got a haircut and smartened himself up in a boiler suit, cordoroy is so last year..
Actually the front seats are the only bit not done by Ken's. Those were done at a local trimmers a couple of years ago. Keith (at Ken's) then match everything to them. To be honest I can't remember how much those were.
So a bit of a short lived life back on the road. On the second major journey and planned camping we hit a bit of a road block. May Bell has been off the road for quite some time, so the first few journeys are a shake down - little did I realise how much of a shake down. Or more specifically fish tailing and thinking we're going to crash and die!!! The rear wheel bearing was worn out and the bus would periodically fish tail alarmingly. So back to VW Aircooled Works for that to be sorted out. Major thanks go to Peter Picked her back up again a week or so later and couldn't believe the difference. The engine is purring along nicely and the drive was awesome. So glad to be finally (hopefully) up and running now.
