Lets see your awnings.

  1. I reckon there would be a market for a lightweight waterproof sunshade with detachable sides
I tend to go away for 2 or 3 nights and to have somewhere where chairs/tables etc can be chucked & dont get wet + a bit of wind protection would be great
    ? something like this??...The Nomad Port-a-tent

  2. Out of curiosity why don't you need one anymore?

  3. We have one of the Retro ones from JK (sorry, best pictures I could find!), and have also recently got just a sun canopy (made NLAVW, but from VWH) which we use if don't need extra storage or don't want the hassle of putting a complete awning up.

We have two, the first one was given to us by a neighbour. It was bought in 1982 (still have the reciept!) It's not very big and really heavy but looks the part. The other is a Navigator Kombi, bought of a bongo owner. It's brilliant, huge and packs down really neatly!

  5. The wife's had a Khyam motordome classic for the last 11 years
The older ones used dark colours ( handy for a lie-in) shame the newer ones are a much lighter grey

  9. What do people think about awnings with burners in them? I saw one at Busfest that looked amazing but I wonder if anyone has one and has a view on the realities of them.

    Thanks

  10. I think it's like mine, only way I can explain how it looks is similar to Neptunes and zebedees on the first page of this thread. Big awning, plenty of space

  11. Hi Elizabeth,

Was the one you saw from a company called glawning etc, we bought one from them last year, and it's one of the best things we bought for the van. Fairly easy to put up (my wife can just about do it by her self) I hold the pole in the middle. The burners are excellent, in fact to warm sometimes. We always let the fire die down before going to bed etc, and really can withstand some harsh weather.

  13. Thanks Dan for this. Can I ask, does it come with hole in the tent ready for the stove, because on their website you need to buy both items separately...

    Thanks E x

p.s. oh, and yes, that was the one we saw, glawning..

  14. No probs, yeah you do have to cut hole out yourself, honestly it's not that daunting. You can basically semi attach the "thing with the hole in" (I've forgot the word for it) and cut round the inside edge. If you don't want to take the fire, stuff a tennis ball in the hole and it stops rain getting in. Just make sure that it's in the right place before cutting. There's a pic of mine on the first page of this thread. Hope that helps, if you are going to purchase one, ask them for the show price :) and it should get everything in that deal. :)

  15. Brill - thanks :)

Do you have any photos of the inside with the burner etc.? Thanks.

  17. Thanks, yeah should do, I will have a quick look.
Thanks, I've got one, it's not the best. It's the only one where I'm not dickin about in :)
