  1. Heres mine. 1970's (i think) Raleigh Motovilla.

Weighs a ton (especially when wet), is massive when packed away and smells like a wet dog most of the time.

    But does it stay up?

  10. Outwell Country Road, it came with the bus. Also came with no instructions so the first time we put it up in the garden involved running indoors every 2 minutes to watch a YouTube video!

  11. awnings - not balconies

  12. Ours is Khyam - quite tricky to put up with a mix of steel and fibreglass poles - as used at Eskdale spring camp cIMG_7650.jpg

Here's ours at Glastonbury this year, 20 mins to put up and withstood 70 mph winds at the lakes on our old van last year

Ive had this Royal Traveller Tunnel for about 12 years now. It's still quite functional but I'm considering one of those air frame ones for an easier erection. ;)

  15. Got some repairs to do to mine after a couple of nights of gales in scotland ripping the tie down loops out of the 40 year old fabric. :(
Not sure whether to just buy a newish modern tunnel one but don't like the thought of fibreglass poles and the air ones are way out of my price range.

  16. I find the fibreglass poles a lot easier to deal with, and although I have had one snap (easily replaced) they take up a lot less space than the aluminium poles of a canvas awning. Those air ones are indeed expensive, but they are up in a couple of minutes as opposed to the 30 or so it seems to take me with the tunnel... I'm waiting though until this one gives up the ghost.

  17. Mine has steel poles and they weigh 24kg in its bag with the rock pegs and a hammer. The canvas must weigh at least the same. They leave a dent in the rear bed cushion if they are on there for more than an hour or two.
I think one of the Royal Traveller awning would do me. Under £200 too.
