Held up by other numptys as usual! My wife roo is school holidays now so hope to finish it in these two weeks. Apart from worktops
Just the thing! Would like to see it in the flesh though as I want a matching shade of red to the tiling
N Yep galley style. No joins as such. One run at about 2.5 m with an undercount sink cutout. Then about 1.5m to each side of cooker but with a curve on each end for curved base unit.
Oak. I think howdens do a curve jig for this or I'll make one. At the moment I'm planning on doing it myself having never used a router before. Kept my old tops to practise on!
You'll be alright. Set the jig and have a practice. Remember the jig stops you cutting the bits your not supposed to cut. What could go wrong Small steps with oak, don't cut too deep in one hit. Check your feed direction and beware of breakout at the end of the curve cut, although this is not such a problem with solid woods.
they do a nice curved jig about £80 i have one i may have a spare i will check in morning,as i know i have a spare but not sure if its curved .
Phoned b&q this morning to complain about something and in the process asked about my worktops. Was told still mid may. They phoned me back about my complaint this afternoon to say the items would be delivered this week, and said, oh your worktops will come with that delivery aswell! .?????,!!! So in the space of four hrs it went from mid May delivery as there were none in stock anywhere, to being delivered this Friday.
