  1. Very nice. Love the tidy pipework.

  2. New cooker finally arrived this week

So today I started destroying the upstairs of the house
    Landing

    My boy flynns room

This is so we can put new wiring in for the cooker. From fused box under stairs, up to under the landing floor and along under flynns bedroom floor then down into kitchen. Dave the sparky is coming next weekend to do that and the other leccy bits. So just making cuts in floor boards and making sure access is good in all the right places.

Also chipped off rest of the wall tiles in kitchen and prepping the floor ready to screed

  3. If anyone knows when my chuffing cooker hood will arrive, please tell

I would have preferred a sticker to tell you where you can lift it...:D

Good work,I have to do my kitchen ,eventually..

  6. Good to see the pictures of what we have been talking about, it makes more sense now

  7. I think it may have been shipped from Kuala Lumpur on flight number MH 370....

  8. We'll mr sparky had to cancel this weekend due to having to work away this week, so electrics are down for next weekend now.
Started screeding the floor ready for the flooring to go down

Having to do it in sections because as you can see it has to remain a usable kitchen. My teas been tasting a bit gritty of late

  9. Sparky Dave came today to do his thang, back tomorrow to finish

So I thought yippee were rolling again, bug of course this has made more work for me. Had to pull up extra floorboards upstairs which in turn meant pulling off skirting aswell, so will need some making good to the decor after it's all refitted.

Plus, the areas on kitchen wall where I removed tiles was a bit rough, but thought I could get away with coat of filler/plaster. But now daves chased out for the wiring, the boards are loose so I need to re plasterboard some of the wall so that when I tile it, it doesn't all come crashing down. Heyho

  10. Right then the old electrics are finally finished ish. Cooker all hooked up and fully functioning, roughly in position
    [IMG]

Concrete floor was like a flippin seesaw so levelled it all off with levelling compound
    [IMG]

After pulling the old wall tiles off and then hacking out channels for cables, the plasterboard was in a sorry state so ripped off the remains and re boarded it. Looks much better now, and a sounder base for the new tilling

The kitchen we bought is from b&q, big factor being I've got a trade account there so got a good discount on top of buying in the sale. Also they now do click together cabinets (think laminate flooring click system on a bigger scale)which are 10% cheaper than regular ones so that's what we got. Seems to me the units are made by quickstep (very good Belgian laminate manufacturer) as they are made in Belgium and also the system is branded as uniclick same as quickstep. Built a small unit to see how it goes and I'm very impressed. Entire unit built literally in a couple of minutes and is very solid.

    More fun tomorrow!

is the gas pipe large enough to feed all them burners?

  13. Yep. I was a bit sceptical at first as it's only 15mm pipe whereas I expected it be 22 the same as what it's branched off from, but it works fine, all tested etc

  17. Conservatory is a mess. As well as all the normal conservatory stuff, it now also contains some of the old wall units still full of stuff and now the new kitchen which came last week

No work tops at the mo, that's another story.

We nearly did the kitchen a while ago. Got wickes to quote, turned out to be normal pushy sales b0ll0cks, we ended up leaving it anyway and did the camper.
This time we started with wren. Turned out to be very very pushy sales b0ll0cks sacked them off and went to b&q. Much better service, no pushy sales patter. Paid for it And then it went downhill. They've really *******ed me off the last couple of weeks with their bull. I've had to fight to get my delivery, been a real fiasco and it seems it's the norm. At the moment they reckon my work tops won't be here till mid May, not too bothered at the mo as it saves me storing them, but if necessary ill get them elsewhere.

  18. Nice install. Is that gloss units @kenregency ?
