  1. Very strange and at the end when the family had walked out the cameras kept running so the staff were just milling about, not very professional. Did cheer me up to see one of the mourners dressed as elvis in a gold suit though. Also the officiator ( dont know what you call them) reading out the names of the bands Tim was in.Luckily he didnt read out the song title.Any way, cheerio Tim, and I shall leave you with the song he went out to. WARNING, VERY sweary word in the title.

  3. We had to do it for my neighbour a few weeks ago. At the time the regulation was for close family members only. So we all took the afternoon off and lined the street to see him off. Then instead of following on to the church we went inside and watched the ceremony live streamed. Seemed a bit impersonal at first, but I’ve since bumped into his widow and she was really pleased we all got to hear about his time in the RAF and how they met etc.

obviously not ideal but better than missing out on it entirely.

Off to one in just over a week..as far as I'm aware it's just social distancing with a maximum of 25 mourners... doubt she will reach that number, she wasn't very popular, even her brother is refusing to go.

A friend’s Dad had his funeral live streamed on Instagram.... he was a long-time exiled Iranian so had family back in Iran, as well as in America and the UK, and it actually worked out well as even in the best of times many of his family wouldn’t have been able to attend. It did seem a bit strange though.
I hope you gave your friend a good send off @beatnick, even if you couldn’t be there in person x

  8. My mates funeral a couple of weeks ago was live streamed but when it came down to it I couldn't watch. We had a send off in the village we grew up in, he was driven slowly round the village(in a Land Rover hearse no less!) as we lined the roadside which was lovely but the idea of watching the service online didn't seem right at all. I took the dog for a walk instead and shed a few tears as I remembered our childhood fun and games.
