Ireland's only Volkswagen street event and largest gathering of Aircooled VWs is back in Loughmore Not only have we a new Jumpstart poster, designed by the famous Lemorris in Arizona ^^^^^^^^^ but this year we have an exclusive Jumpstart sticker which was designed by Dazzla Rock in the UK This sticker will be available to everyone who arrives in a VW on the day. You will see that the chosen charity for 2016 is none other than Barretstown which is recognised as a centre of excellence in childhood cancer care and other serious illnesses. I know that you will support our efforts to raise valuable funds for this amazing charity. This year we will be no prizes by category, instead we will be doing a Top 10 which means this will be more inclusive for everyone involved. The Top 10 awards are being made as I type this and I know you will love them when you see them. 2016 will also see the first convoy of Northern Beetle Owners Club members making the long journey to Jumpstart so with people driving their VW to Loughmore from Kerry, Cork, Donegal, Belfast and everywhere in between, there really are VW fans in all four corners of Ireland. We would love to have some of you folks from UK pop over too! Like last year, there will be camping available for those who would like to enjoy a beverage or two on the Friday night and then on Saturday morning wake up and stroll across to The Cottage for a fry up! Jon White of vwspares.ie has once again shown his support by sponsoring prizes and of course, Jon will have a stand on the day so if you're looking for that small dashboard switch or complete floorpans he's your man. The "organisers" are actually just one guy, Coxy. He has a few people willing to help but does 99% of the work himself. Every year show goers get a free goody bag stuffed with stickers, hats, pens etc. and it's all due to his hard work. We aren't expecting many people to come overseas for this so a group discount hadn't really been thought of. If you google ferry discount codes yourself you should get up to 20% off. Just over 4 weeks to go! This video wasn't shot by me but shows the Main Street.
I hope it goes well. I keep looking into ferries to Ireland as i'd love to visit in my bay, but it works out v expensive.
Well folks, still time to book a ferry. Anybody considering taking a trip over to this? Preparations are well underway. Many companies have already offered spot prizes, stickers, magazines and more. A few of us Are planning to arrive in Loughmore village on the Friday night for a few beers and to get a good spot for Saturday. It's amazing to see the whole village taken over with nothing but Aircooled vehicles.
Well Jumpstart 2016 was amazing. The sun shone all day and again there was over 100 aircooled vehicles from all corners of our island.
