Looks like we managed to fluff the maths on that one, and it somehow got past all of our checks :(

Unfortunately we're all rushed off our feet preparing for VolksWorld - which is for us the second biggest show of the year - so it looks like this one slipped past us.

The 'before and after' prices are correct, but the saving is incorrect.
Looking at it I'd guess someone put in '449' instead of '449' when working it out

Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience that's been caused by tthis.

You need me as a proof reader....
    :)

(Then you wouldnt have put "449" and "449")

    Doh!

Ordinarily our emails are checked by four different people, but we've got so many different things going on - as you'll see at the show - that somehow, against the odds, that was totally missed on all the checks :(

I hadn't seen that banner, just something I saw mentioned as a possibility on VZi.
Hopefully it doesn't mean JK deliveries will start turning up late and incomplete, and not of the parts (or quality) ordered!!!
Brave move considering Status' reputation at the moment.

    Morning All :)

JK have indeed bought Status VW, and there's some more information about it here: http://www.justkampers.com/news/JK_Status_VW/

Essentially, all of Status' orders are now being picked, packed and dispatched from JK HQ as we've moved all of their products in to our warehouse, which should eliminate the issues that some of their customers have reported with speed and accuracy of deliveries.
Further to this, JK are now offering an even wider range of parts and accessories - Status' Beetle range being considerably larger than our own - as well benefiting from Barklay's encyclopedic VW knowledge.

Preservation Parts is a different thing entirely, and Mark has spent months scouring the world for the best manufacturers and producers of classic car parts, creating our own tooling in many instances, in order to stock an expanding range of absolutely top quality parts and accessories. It's early days yet, but the products that we've had in so far have been absolutely incredible. Once we've got all of the products in stock we'll be releasing a catalogue of all the parts in the Preservation Parts range.

If anyone has any specific questions about anything just drop me a PM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can

    Thanks
    Josh

  14. I'm not slagging JK parts or quality of business in any way but, i'm loath to buy anything these days fron them because of the way they've let the forum go. I've let them know the problems as have others and they've done sweet FA about anything. Shame how small becomes BIG and then takes no notice of the people that helped make them what they are today :(

    Hi there,

Really sorry to hear that you feel so let down by the way the forum has headed.

I'm not sure if you're referring to the big changes that were made a few years back, which lead to a lot of people leaving (which was all a bit before I got properly involved at JK), or the spam issues we've been facing recently.

The changes to the forum were made - perhaps too hastily, in hindsight - to try and improve the forum experience for everyone. As I understand it though these changes weren't popular with everyone and a lot of people gradually stopped using the forum, and the community shrank.
We were devastated to see this happen, as we'd always absolutely loved meeting up with the Kamper Chatters (especially when they all dressed up!) at shows, but were unable to coax people back in to using it. It really is a shame to see a community like that dwindle away, especially as I believe it was one of the first VW forums ever (if not the first) but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes. :(

The recent issues with the forum have been much different as we've been attacked again and again by spammers.
We've implemented countless measures against them, but due to the nature of the spammers and bots involved and the forum software we're using, it's proved much more difficult than we'd initially thought. Our IT Director has been working away at the issue on evenings and weekends to try and get to the bottom of the problem and when I spoke to him this morning he said he's found something that should fix the problem once and for all.
I can see how it seems like we've been doing 'sweet FA' about it, but in truth we've just been a bit rubbish at keeping the forum members updated about all of the different measures we've been using. People have been in touch with myself and our IT Director directly and the messages have been passed on and acted upon as necessary, but as soon as this latest measure has been installed that should be the end of it.

If you've got any specific questions or concerns just let me know :)
    Josh
