I think I'll stick with my white bumpers but if I wanted a chrome car I'd have this.....

I think it is a sticky cover. A guy I know in the local Aston Martin dealer told me one of the Man City players ordered a black DB9 and changed his mind after a few weeks so they covered it in a white film. Costs a few thousand to do.

Have you guys seen the latest in chrome paint? Much cheaper than buying new bumpers or having your current bumpers triple plated. Just get a couple spray cans mixed at your local paint shoppe. Take your bumpers off, hang them in your garage and paint them yourself.
If the bumpers get chipped or scratched, just touch it up. If you don't like it, paint them white again.
You can also do your rims or the whole frickin' bus if ya want. (wouldn't you love to see a chrome-painted bus? 8) )

I think you'll find that this isn't paint. It's actually a sticker covering the whole car.

I suppose that's possible, as I grabbed this photo randomly from Google images.
So in the interest of more responsible research, these cars were pulled from the car gallery on a MirraChrome Paint website. They have been painted with MirraChrome brand chrome paint.
They don't look much different than your sticker car, do they.
You're quite right though about buses with white tops needing white bumpers. Chrome bumpers do look a bit more passable on a solid bus.
But as I've said before, chrome is more flash and glam, whereas a bus is inherently cute. Putting chrome bumpers on a bus is like putting patent leather stiletto heels on a hamster. (imho, of course)

I'm still on the fence about that. Your bumpers are still about as out of place as a pair of Teletubbies at a swinger's party, but I can appreciate Volkswagen's need to add bling to their fancy lil special editions.
I still chuckle when I see the old ads for that striped Transporter that was the color of a filter organ. They slapped on a brown dash, chrome bumpers and plush carpeting and you'd think angels were about to blast a trumpet herald or something.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Champagnes. But for all the flash and glory the old ads proclaimed, was cruise control really so far out of reach? Power windows, maybe? I mean gimme something. 3 stripes and a brown dash. W^nk-w^nk. Oh stop. It's too much. :

We get our chrome paint from these guys http://chromepaint.com/?page_id=8
its £250 a litre without the black undercoat you need to paint it first, and if theres any inperfections in the undercoat is stands out a mile and you have to re do it all, right pain in the arse. id go for stainless steel bumpers if it was me.

is this the one with the glow in the dark roof??
