Threw this on temporarily earlier Para. Not sure exactly how far along the rack it'll go but I've got to cut a big hole in the long panel for the bullfinch external shower point so I need to start thinking about it.

    Thought you'd like the idea.

Coz G is so high, it could do with a small extension to the skirt, perhaps on velcro, if we want to use it to house the loo. As a shower cubicle its massive and pretty good:thumbsup:.

No they're cast like the originals but from a much stronger steel alloy. They are also thicker in certain areas to facilitate fitting of aftermarket brake conversions.

  3. Nice that’s exactly the sort of thing I’ll be fitting to mine but I won’t be having a powered shower as such it will either be a hanging bag or possibly a pump up one like a garden sprayer.
What brand did you go for?

  4. Is a brake conversion something you plan for the future?

It's an Eezi-awn Cube. Having looked at what was available, including DIY, I decided this model probably had the best build quality. It's very robust and I liked the front cross bar. It's just a bit short but we knew that and factored it in to the pros and cons. ALU CAB do one that came a close second but lacked the lock out bar.

    No.

Threw the floor in today. 3 layers consisting of sound deadening, some NASA bubble Marmitee and 9mm ply. It's not fixed down yet but it gives me levels and gaps to work to.
So got on with some insulation.
It's a ball ache as well.

    I'm making it so I guess:rolleyes:.

Flat panels have sound deadening, then a layer of foil backed closed cell self adhesive foam.. hic..then 25mm Recticel sealed with foil tape.
Then there will be a vapour barrier under the trim panels.

Trouble is, I can't stop! It makes no sense, we have a Planar diesel heater, we won't be cold, but I can't stop!

I do like the way the letters line up on stuff that will never be seen though

    Recticel above, foamy stuff below...

All done, well I did foil tape the cross bar after I took this but you get the idea:)

(Ps it wasn't all I did today Mrs Monkey if you're engaging. I did treat and paint the boat roof where the anti-slip had lifted. Winter is coming

Bed projection and galley mapped out on floor

So decided to get on with it and stop procrastinating.
First job is to line the rear quarters. There will be twin water tanks under the side windows so the insulating and lining obvs has to go in first.

Out with the hardboard for templates. This stuff is so easy to work with and cheap at about 8 quid for a 2440x1220 sheet.

Holes cut for the water inlet and breather
    IMG_20221104_150451_compress86.jpg

And because a full sheet isn't quite big enough to do the full side I added a bit on the bottom.
It'll never be seen but it makes me feel better.
    IMG_20221104_161057_compress48.jpg

The Planar diesel heater warm air recirculation hose will be routed up inside the cupboard end and vented in at head height. That should make the heater more efficient.
    IMG_20221104_161133_compress5.jpg

Because the other side is a mirror image, 2 templates for the effort of one...now just not got to screw up cutting the foil faced board that will form the cupboard backs...

    Laminating!
This is the white stabilising backing laminate and I'm practising on the inside of the door cards coz it's been a while and I don't want to eff up Mrs Monkey's lovely top surface coz it's expensive:shock:

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Reminds me I need to stick mine back on. I'll get better glue next time.
Trouble is with it already trimmed I'll miss won't I, so I'll need more laminate too.

Possibly not. Glue both surfaces then place batons about 4 inches apart on the board and lay the laminate over the top. This allows you to fairly precisely position the laminate without it sticking. Then take out the center baton and contact!
Work towards the edges removing on baton at a time.
    Surprisingly accurate:thumbsup:

@theBusmonkey what is the sheeting that you are using that costs £8 a sheet please? Is it water/damp proof, or are you treating it?

Acually, are those the sheet’s you’re laminating? Is that for aesthetics and protection? Ta x

The cheap sheet is 4mm hardboard Alex. I'm using it for templates as it's easy to cut and shape. It's not waterproof. I think there's a water resistant version but this isn't it.

The sheets I'm laminating are for door cards at the moment. Slider, long panel (most will be hidden behind the galley unit) and rear hatch panel.

    Face laminate...
