just a quick i tunes question to anyone who knows when my old lap top died i lost a lot of tunes and now i am on my mac was wondering if i could get them back from iTunes ? anyone had any similar experiences
How long ago did you buy it and did you buy it on iTunes? If its recent then the new update allows you to log in to iTunes and re-download any songs you have previously bought. Just go to the purchased link on the iTunes store and they should be there.
There is software out there that allows you to recover tunes from your iPod and transfer them onto your pc/laptop and store them in the iTunes folder. I have the software on my laptop at work. I will check tomorrow and let you know what it is called.
I think the files are stored on the hard drive. You may need to try to get the files off your old drive if possible. We back up our Itunes directory regularly. When we got a new laptop we copied the files onto it, and after some ranting at the laptop, and then at each other, it all started working again.
