Well that was noisy! and a bit smokey to start.. So - an alternator belt to tighten - oil sensor to look at again.. light spray near that.. - and a bit of exhaust popping to sort now... is that likely to be lean carbs? Temps seem ok oil stayed near the 100°c mark, presure around the 3 Bar.. The Westach CHT gauge didnt register so that looks to be dead but the cheapo bluetoth BBQ sensors looked to work a treat at 266°F on no1 and 293°F on no3. (And why are you tube videos now showing a preview pic on here anymore?.. edit seems to be working now!) Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Couldn't find it!... ! I guessed somewhere around 2500rpm based on the noise the other one made!.. but took it down and up a bit Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
I can see the preview picture of you looking into the engine if thats what you mean . have you ran the cam in yet or are you doing that in the vid hence the high revs? very few isssues which is good and all minor, well done
I'll need to give it a once over want sure if rich or lean, had a couple back through the carb too when backing off too but not many., but at least it's running.. will drop this first lot of oil and go through a service routine .. sure theres a guide in that dellorto book to go through Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
That was the break in run.. had a couple pressure up (no spark) and a ball park timing run check too and a quick change of bit of wood holding the throttle open that's why it's a bit smokey.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Loose pressure sender on a length of hose .. didnt see it in the bark of the engine bay .. blooming obvious when dropped out on the drive.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Excellent! her indoors “what’s that bloody racket” me “a type 4 motor sounding nice” reply “oh” sometimes they just don’t get it, do they!
Luckily my Mrs Deefer is very a accommodating with the engine mess noise.. we have his and hers latebays...neighbours were quite good too.. though someone did say it funny they were watching the silence on the telly yesterday when I started.. but it was 12:10 so how was I to know.. shes not too bothered either to be fair, so long as we can get out camping reliably then that’s all she asks. Mess wise, I need to keep it restrained in the garage and not all over the garden. I ought to start Gusbus thinking about it
Just given ours a quick run out. 15 mins or so to warm it up & get the surface rust of the brakes etc. Did have the hours exercise while out with the dog so all above board & legal Really itching to get out & camp but will just have to wait
I took Gusbus for its mot on the 7th March, we had lots planned camping wise. Should be sat in Dent now, down by the river. Patience needed!
