Is this repairable?

  1. ^this. If you’re buying several, makes sense just to buy the bare tools without batteries. Will likely work out cheaper.

  2. Also the chargers are so fast these days that you don’t need more than two or three batteries no matter what job you are doing. You’d have a job to flatten a battery faster than you could keep another one charged up waiting.

I’ve got makita drills and i think the charger gets them in full whack in about 20mins.

Plus if every tool was sold with a battery then I guess people would also expect a battery charger and how many of them do you need?

  3. So some say repair it ,some say new ... I always thought it an MOT fail to patch the beam .. sure you can pigeon Marmite some weld or fill it with filler but unless your a qualified welder I’d leave well alone and replace ... the amount of Marmite welding on this forum is shocking and it always gets 10 likes ...

Very true ...if you have the brass for a new beam and the knowledge of fitting a new one, or a quality 2nd hand, then f it off .

  5. Thanks for the replies guys, your knowledge is very welcome, even if some people think it ok to hijack the thread and talk about their skateboards and batteries .
Thanks again, I think I’ll go for a new one, probably the standard JK, as I get 10% discount.

To be fair, you got more than your fair share of sensible answers for this place :hattip:

You think that’s a thread hijack! We can talk about what we want where we want on here. You’ll get used to it.

  12. I guess this is one of those unmoderated forums, guess I’ll get used to it.

i had mine welded but it wasnt quite as bad as your pictures, only complaint the welder had was that although there was no grease present when he started, the grease must have warmed up during welding, and hot grease squirted out and coved the welding mask and made welding difficult

Now I'm confused, are we talking about beams, skateboards or bare unit power tools,

I'll have a beer and work it out myself

    Happy Saturday everyone
