Was out for a walk this afternoon and took a path I’ve never used before to Matfen in Northumberland. Saw this car under a cover. Don’t think its moved for many years. Couldn’t tell what it was but it had huge chrome headlamps. Anyway look at the reg.

Would of had a better look but the cover was frozen solid.

It’s right on the side of a public path as well

I would guess it’s a Morris or Austin or similar. Don’t think it was a Bugatti Royalle

Great plate. Someone with a bay that has a plate relevant to whatever car it is could do a good swap. :)

  8. I would guess a 1938 Austin :)

It's got the look of an Austin 18, which was a pretty ungainly, some might say ugly car.

I think you’re correct on both counts

  13. unfortunately you can't do much with that reg (ie transfer it to a bay) unless the austin has an mot.. which seems unlikely. nice find though, but not really my cup of tea*

    * my "cup of tea" is actually, well.. a cup of tea :D thanks. milk no sugar.

That would look great on my '73 Bay......only one problem and it's not a small one.

    I didn't think Austin did a 2366cc engine in 1938, or ever actually. The 18 was 2510cc.

Owned or registered keeper? If the owner let you register as keeper, could you transfer the number and then register the owner as keeper?
