New engine anxiety eh? You have your water cooling to worry about I guess. I drove mine 100 yards to MOT and back then 1/2 mile to a roundabout and back, seemed alright so I set off same day (xmas eve) on a 400 mile round trip. Sometime you just have to go for it, if it doesn't go bang immediately it's not likely to IMO. :D

And so far this year we have done ~ 1750 miles and the motor is running sweet and sounds great.

  9. today I've fitted a new wiper/wash switch with push button mod.

fixed the sender issue, it had gotten really bent whilst in storage, now works a treat fitted the new seal to the sender too.

    fitted an exhaust hanger.

lots to do tomorrow but i think I'll be sorted then.

oh and a little alternator belt issue, doesnt seem to be running exactly true so throws it off on startup every few attempts. [IMG][IMG]

  10. You may find bleeding the coolant easier if you raise the coolant bottle up onto the firewall then you can access it through the engine hatch as and when required. It will then defo be the highest point and provide a "head" of water

  14. Ahhhh, last one I did without a hatch I drilled a round hole and made an access panel. Rivnuts and nice bolts and looked and worked fine.

  15. If both your in and out rad pipes are hot/warm then 86 is fine. Let it idle until the fans cut in (96 Deg)
