I'm sure this has been answered a miliion times but can't find one that matches mine so here goes Indicators are not working, hazards are working and I can feel the relay clicking. Checked fuses and they are fine. I changed the relay last week and they started to work. They did stop but I found that if I put the hazards on and off they started working again. Almost as if they were freeing something up. They have stopped again now though Help, it's a 78 left-hander and my arms not long enough to put out the window to turn right
Had the same problem, have you changed the voltage of the bulbs,? Or changed to LED's? If not check fuse and then check all contacts on connectors are clean with wire wool and check lights are earthing correctly. If you look at the bulb there are two elements the higher of the two light when hazard switch is pulled the lower element lights for indicators Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
You sure you're not using a brake/rear bulb in the worng place.. pretty sure ours are one filament.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
The indicators take power from a different line to hazards.. check your fuses.. hazards always come on, indicators only work when ignition on Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
https://www.megabug.co.uk/indicator-bulbs-amber-382a-12-volt-21w-sold-as-a-pair-63-p.asp Well mine have two, and they are orange rear, clear front and work in the way I've described, if you look closely at the link there are two elements Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Well should be a live and neutral/earth ready switches between hazard and indicators they run off same relay Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Same relay slightly diffrent source of power, but both send it down the same wire to light the bulb. Hazards via fuse 8, indicators via fuse 11. Then black/white ledt bulbs and black/green right. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I looked at the link and can only see one filament in each bulb? It sounds like your bus is a US spec – they did some weird things with lights. UK/European spec buses have clear 21w single filament bulbs back and front. Hazards and indicators use the same bulbs.
Err zoom in you can see two elements one below the other, mine was built in 70 in Germany standard spec Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
There’s only one contact – look at the bottom of the bulb. But if you think it has two filaments I’m not going to bother to argue.
https://www.busdepot.com/n0177382 This clearly shows two element's as per my bus I agree the first shot shows a single element for the rear orange bulb with a element shadow, i made the presumption the rear had two elements where it has one. But they are orange and the front are clear with two elements Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
I'll check the fuse again tomorrow, I suppose the holder may need nipping together, hence it the intermittent working last week. After that I'll double check all the connections. Don't know if it makes any differance but the indicator light on the dash stays on solid. Ps, not to start the debate again but there's only one filament on mine
I think thats just a shadow.. it would need two different wires to light two different filaments.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
At the end if the day my advice was to clean the contacts and check they were earthed correctly Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Thats a us spec one.. they indicate red not amber so use the same lens Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
If your front "indicators" genuinely need two elements (ie two contacts in the indicator housing), they're US-spec. One filament is the indicator, the other (lower power) filament is for the front marker which should come on in the "sidelight" position. That's if I've understood things correctly. Fitting a single filament bulb in will do nothing or do odd things.
