We're venturing onto the edge of the grim north.. Any recommendations for some where to go/eat in the city.. Music pub.. On Sunday night..? It's been around 4 years since we stayed In the city..... Will then be heading into the peak District for a stroll.. Probably starting with Hathersage Booths...
Devonshire quarter is a good place to start & venture onto Division street & West Street. Lots of lively pubs & places to eat.
Firstly don't make eye contact, and don't pay for anything without shaking your head and saying aw mooch, stay back from the bar when it's your round or better still disappear to the good intents, don't use £50 notes and keep saying ey to everything, read up on whippet racing and buy a flat cap, you'll be fine
Cooeee! I’m back! Reception was awful in Cropredy but now I’m in civilised Bloxham with WiFi and everything I think @paulcalf probably knows town places better than me. You could go here @art b and take your foldy bike https://www.theoutdoorcity.co.uk/sheffield-city-life/eat-drink/amici-and-bici-p758131
If you go to Pelham Island industrial museum there are a good couple of pubs very close by and the Museum is well worth a visit
The Slaughtered Lamb? Just don't ask "What's that star on the wall for.", when someone's playing darts. You might make them miss....
I always this of Sheffield as the check point Charlie for actual Yorkshire....I’m told they still exchange Laaanduners for bemused ehhhlad’s on occasion in the no mans land in Rotherham.
Sorry for my late reply I'm away. There is an underground toilet that has been converted into a small bar/restaurant. Apparently the food is amazing. It's called Public & is on Surrey St. Music pub I can't remember the name of but will google in a mo: Devonshire cat. Go up division street. Turn diagnollay left through Devonshire green and you will come to the pub I'm on about.
Only been to Sheffield once, that was for a stag do about 15 years ago. If you want the details of an incredibly seedy hotel(the sort that happily takes stag parties) or Spearmint Rhino gentleman's club I can help
