  1. Hi Again

Yes im back again with more tech info please...Your all be sick of me finding this site:)Sorry!!!..
Right just wondering if the headlight rim is a 3 screw? As your see in pics its got 1 screw but gap looks way to big between rim and light!!...So would i be right in saying its a 3 screw rim and not a 1 screw which should be on alice??.....would this link be the screws i need x 6? Thanks so much once again...sorry for being a dumbass:( The screw is in tight and rim is over lip if thats makes sense!!

    Looks normal to me

  4. A good reason to thoroughly Waxoyl your headlamp bowls :)!

  5. The gap between light and rim is normal. It is a 1 screw rim. If it was a 3 screw rim, there would be 2 more holes for screws.

  6. Cheers Fellow vw t2ers Who no whats what...the reason i ask is that i bought some new rims but there 3 screwers!! and they fit better on lights and no gap.....Alice is going in next week for a new spray job and welding done,...so just wanted better rims for after spray job, i just thought the old ones in pics look to big,...i took off old rims and theres holes here there and everywhere lol.....i get confused easy ;)...and get OCD if theres something what looks odd...ill take more pics with rim off:)

  7. Your paint does look a bit orange-peely...

Re the rims, I checked on my van, and there is quite a large gap.

  8. The reason for the gap with 1 screw rims is that the headlight adjusts on its own, behind the rim, because the headlight attaches to the body. The 3 screw rim fits closer because the light fits to the rim, and the rim attaches to the body.

  9. last owner spent more money on engine and seats and just a quick paint job lol...she will be better soon....

  10. Oh i see thanks for info...i think im blonde!!!:)....so could i fix the 3 screw rim?? ive uploaded some pics of without rim...bloody holes everywhere lol

  11. Has the front panel been replaced previously?

Early busses had the 3 srew rim but the replacement front panels are later bay ones with only one screw

  12. It also looks like theres a bit of filler hiding behind the paint below that headlamp bowl in the pics

If the terrible orange peel thats on show isnt all over the front panel and its just in that one area
Then id say someones done some filler work and painted the area with rattle cans including rattle can laquer

  13. Yes the front has been replaced,The person before hand just had a quick D.I.Y spray, filler job!...so its a later front will take pics when she has resto shes in next week
Shes having all done:).... So could i fit new 3 screw rims on her?

  14. Get the bodyshop to weld on the extra metal tabs you need then yes you could fit the 3 screw ones

Im looking forward to seeing it in fresh paint dude just make sure you put some pics up in the resto section:thumbsup:
Are you keeping the same colour?

  15. Cheers me old china....Yes will ask bodyshop to weld extra tabs to fit new rims,...will deff post pics in resto section,...Shes going a tad lighter green on bottom,And Old english white on top...the roof will be getting sealed and new coat.....got the option for roof to be green or white..Other half hasnt made up her mind(its her bus)

  16. To fit 3 screw rims, you only have 1 tab inside the rim. One screw attaches to the tab, the other 2 screws are for the headlight adjust.

To fit 1 screw rims, you need 3 tabs in the bowl - vinny already has these because he already has 1 screw rims fitted. Headlight adjust is on the headlight, not the rim.

  17. Best answer ever;)

  18. i thank you for help....just glad i can fit new rims:)...yes i did notice 2 headlight screws when rim was off and played about with them just to see what they do lol...and headlight did move about....im sorry if i sound dumb just new and like to ask before i brake stuff:)

  19. The reason i asked that was that i never had a vw before and its all new ball game for me,..and new rims are 3 screws and wasnt sure if it would fit as didnt know what was
Under old 1 screw rim...just seeing if i could fit new 3 screw rim:)
