    By an irate car driver.

I usually move over to allow traffic to enter the motorway from the slip road, but on this occasion I couldn’t as a van was alongside me overtaking, sadly the poor driver never thought to speed up he simply slowed while I passed, then shot out to the second lane to overtake me, cut up another car took both hands off the steering wheel got level with my cab put on his brakes, forcing the car behind to brake sharply again and applauded my rubbish driving.

I gave him the customary salute.

A  would have annoyed him more.

I blame the overthinking driver that prevented you from pulling out (good job my speel chucker didn't change the last word!)

Nobody’s fault really unless you think his slow approach down the slip road was? I don’t have to pull over to allow traffic on, that’s just curtesy and the van driver was in his right to overtake. The motorway was the M54 which is only two lanes he couldn’t move over to allow me to.

Regardless of who’s to blame, the fact he did what he did, makes him a total balloon.

  9. I wonder what it is about driving a vehicle which turns usually sane and reasonable people into complete d**kheads? We've all done it (probably), I certainly have and I had to have a word with myself about it. Any delay is usually momentary and eclipsed by any set of traffic lights anyway. Other drivers don't do it from spite either - as you usually never know who they are. I welcome your pet road rage theories.

It’s simply replaced walking, you used to get similar behaviour at busy times when walking. Obviously it is magnified behaviour when a person is safely ensconced in a car, but similar.

I usually shrug and ignore it, but occasionally it gets to me.

So you didn't mean to type "overtaking" when you typed "overthinking"? :)

  12. Malc, when you are next driving down the A41 past Aylesbury, check out the drivers joining from slip roads that the Berkhamstead and Hemel rabble use. High speed, zero indication tactics, force you to dive into the outside lane, then they speed up to undertake you to get to the M25 roundabout 20 seconds earlier than you.

The inside lane can be hard work, you get all the action.

Honestly Steve, I see so much dangerous stuff I accept it as normal now, sadly.

I did like the lady passenger with her boobs out that drove slowly past me three times on the A500 at Stoke the week before last even if it was a major distraction.

The other camper classic take on this for those of limited top speed is pulling into the middle lane to let someone out who then sits at your speed in the inside lane stopping you getting back in while irate middle laners pile up behind. What do you do - Slow down and annoy 'em even more?

I have to say these days if I'm in a good mood I stay in lane and adjust my speed to let them out, if not I don't adjust my speed, it's their lookout technically speaking.

  20. I'm sure slip roads used to have the same double dashed line that 'T' junctions have, but they seem to have just a single dashed line nowadays?
