Not such a grand view for me at the weekends but I always attend my lad’s village games each weekend, It’s lovely in the Marches league we get to some fabulous village grounds on the borders. ( although they had to play in the Worcestershire league this season, but still the Marches league really ) We do have tickets for an ashes game at Edgbaston soon though
Here's a tangent (sounds like it won't matter to anyone reading this thread ) I grew up in, and my Dad still lives in, "Whetstone", North London... So called because the sword -whetting stone used by one side in the "last battle in the War of the Roses" ... the Battle of Barnet ... is still set into the pavement at the traffic lights at one end of the high street. Yes! Those traffic lights are still working after all that time!
I just found sixty quid in a pocket of a pair of shorts I've not worn for a year , lucky it's new notes as they've been through the washing machine
You've got some lovely grounds in your area Malc. I do enjoy watching a bit of league cricket, the lower the better, where it's not played overly seriously.
I decide ' this is possibly the nicest ground I go to and then a week later I decide this one is ( the one i'm at). Usually they have a good pub near to or fantastic views, quite often they have both!
Bit slower on my feet these days .... Have more of a Roman nose (as in roman all over my face) than the Russian one (as in ....) that I used to, which is just as well given the current baddies are also Ruskies (It's ok, I lose track myself sometimes )
It's called "plumbing" and all you need to pack is an adjustable wrench, PTFE and the "Teeth-sucking Manual for Heating Engineers" which has that appendix on how to copy sparks' wiring
When I was a lad, the answer to "Where is x" was automatically "Up Jack's arse and round the corner". Tell that to young people today, with their vegan tofu and transgender pants
