The place is almost completely filled with T4/5's but having spoken to a few of the owners and they've fed me a few beers I've discovered that they are almost like proper human beings. :)

It was excellent. Much more varied than the usual VW show. Lots and lots of things for the kids to do.
Imagine a good old fashioned village fete with some endearingly bad exhibitors and bands alongside some real talent. Tea and cakes made by the ladies in the village for £1 a cup and lovely cakes for 50p. I've got loads of pics but they're still all on the grown up camera.
Archery, hover crafts, remote control model boats, trampolines, old fashioned swing boats, historic car show, VW show and shine (they walked around and judged your van where it was). It's in the grounds of the Hall and you could camp wherever you liked.
The weather though, was absolutely awful.

Oh, and loads of tanks and military stuff. Oh, and loads of motorbikes and trikes.

Very expensive though, it cost, ummm, nothing to camp for the weekend and day visitors were £3.00.

I'm Definately going back next year and highly recommend it for any one else.

And like @The Bobdogs said in Woodys post, the toilets really do have piped classical music piped in so the ladies can fart and strain without anyone hearing them. :)

  15. Was having so much fun touring the Scottish Highlands last week that we didn't get back in time! Only made it as far south as Hawes in North Yorkshire....which is a very, very nice place to stay.
Friends of ours that went has a good time, and it's nice to know the lavatorial standards are being upheld.

Go to the Chippy it's one of the best you'll ever see, try the deep fried Wensleydale it's made just round the corner

longest single drop waterfall in the country, You've got some good pubs with nice ale round there

  20. The way it isn't really a VW show is it. It is a village fete/carnival/gala that has VWs at it.
