  1. Crude Oil will run out in the next 50 years or so ...
The world reserves are already running out except in Middle East - which has loads.

Let's hope that our VWs can carry one running well into the future and they find a good way of replacing petrol.

  2. Well, I did my house to Land's End, then to John O'Groats and back to my house which was 2130 miles and did it in 10 days. It would have been better if I could have afforded to do it over a longer period (time-wise) as doing 200 miles per day on average was a bit much. This was in 2010 and cost about £500 in petrol - dread to think what it would cost now... Where are you thinking of going?

  3. 2 weeks minimum 3 would be more enjoyable, otherwise you're just driving every day. :)

  4. I once did 800 miles in a day in a landrover

It took me a good 4 days to recover from that drive and i wouldent want to do it again

That was with no coffe or stimulants

  5.
  6. It was in one of the old series landys before the raf got defenders and a part needed to be in scotland to get a jet home asap

Id do that drive again only if life depended on it it proper hurt in many ways

I've Been pondering this and really couldn't answer it. I suppose each day will be different in how far you drive and what you go to see etc etc.

My Golf has a trip computer like a lot of cars. I used it for survey work and belted about all over uk in it up to 500 miles a day. I averaged 45 mph, maybe 50 if there was a lot of motorway. And no I didn't keep to M'way limits. In a camper it's going to be 35- 40mph average.
My son wanted me to drive to 10,000 miles with him this summer. We thought we'd better allow 3 months, then I thought 3 months on the road? No thanks!
