https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/10/24/farmer-hogties-trespassers-quad-bike-police-station/ I can understand why the farmer did it...but don't think he fully thought through the consequences.
Trespassing is a civil matter , police wont have the slightest interest in that , false imprisonment is a serious criminal matter , i would say he is going to suffer some serious consequences. Then again in today's policing it will depend alot upon the victim and perpetrators background as to what actually happens.
If he'd kept them on his property, he might have stood more of a chance. But to put them on his quad bike and take them to the nick...
I don’t understand at all how he’s managed that, he must have been armed. On the average copper show, it looks really difficult to handcuff a reluctant person when there are several cops there….how he’s managed to tie two people up on his own ….cant be all there is to it. They also don’t look like ne’r do wells, they are in wet weather gear from what I can see.
Sheep rustlers? Can't read the article so I'm guessing but both in identical black suits they look proper sneaky to me. Perhaps if he'd shot them and fed them to his pigs he'd have got away with it.
Hard to tell I agree…I’m surrounded by sheep farms and I’m told people are nicking sheep from the fields as lamb prices are so high. Still doesn’t explain how he’s physically managed to bind to men….surely one would have given it legs?!
Might of had multiple thefts in the past and just had quite enough of it , if they were on the steal i dont give a monkeys how he deals with them , certainly not killing them mind . Remember that guy in Cambridgeshire who took out a couple of pikeys in his house with a shot gun . I think he killed one and the other survived , he got sent down because he had no shot gun licence . I think the farm was called Bleak house it was all covered in ivy .
He'd set out to trap them with loose boards on his stairs IIRC. I doubt having a gun licence would have made it ok.
I believe they were robbing him blind and laughing in his face as they did it. What's the betting one of them at one point said "What you gonna do about it - shoot us?". Tony Martin?
Apparently they had returned to collect their electric bike which they had left the previous day. They really need to work on their cycling attire.
Come on! All black gear with a face-obscuring hoodie is all the rage these days in cycling circles. It certainly doesn't look like the kind of gear potential burglars would wear. Goodness me, no.
