If there are going to be 7 of you and camping gear DO NOT BUY A LOWERED ONE. And don't drive fast.
Try and find one with servo brakes and a 2L engine.
Or just don't. I think you may have over-estimated how capable these old vans are.

 

The super Viking seats 7 and sleeps 6, well mine does, two seats upfront three behind the front seats and then two more in the kitchen
Suppose you could get seven sleeping in it, just have to have three in the downstairs double

 

If I could seat 7 I'd not be bothered if only two could sleep in it as my older boys are 17, 14 & 13 so they'd be going in an awning anyway. It would be great to be able to sleep 4 in one though for the times that we were to go away with just the two smaller ones who are 6 and 2. I just missed out on an prototype bay with the big Viking roof like yours on your avatar photo NatchoNatchoMan. One owner from new, he was 76 and they didn't use it anymore. Absolutely mint inside with all the original interior and lovely on the outside but just a bit of work needing. He was only asking £5750 but it went the day I was due to go down and see it( gutted, yet again!!!!

 

However it seems, please don't be panicked into buying one. Despite how it may seem, there will always be another one along. I've seen loads this year at around £5-6K that look good for the money. When you're selling it can seem as if there's no buyers!
