Hello from Sussex

Hello, I have a 1979 2.0l T2 that I have owned for a couple of years. In that time it has had a few modifications notably a Red 9 front suspension with rack and pinion steering, Red 9 front disc brake upgrade with 4 pot calipers and a Gene Berg shifter. All this in an attempt to get my wife to drive it! The latest mod was to get rid of the plastic parcel shelf it came with and fit a replacement that I made myself complete with built in led courtesy lights.

I made a cardboard template to get a good fit, transferred it onto CAD, printed it full size then used the paper pattern to rout it from 25mm MDF sandwiched to 6mm MDF with 2mm foamex inserts covered with foam backed vinyl. I bought a couple of marine cup holders and inserted 250mm of led striplight on the underside behind clear perspex.
