Hello all, I’m Dan from Manchester.

Complete newbie restoring a 1974 VW T2 (Lillie Bay) since May this year. We bought the campervan as a rolling project and have since re-built & installed the engine, re-fitted the windows and new seals around the van. Currently working on the wiring the dashboard and lights before restoring the pop top roof & starting the insulation, learning everything from scratch as we go along, joined the forum to look for advice, tips and missing parts.

Hi, the main welding had been done on the chassis underneath & new panels welded around the van along with a fresh paint job when we bought it, unfortunately we don’t have pictures of this work being done. There’s a couple of small holes (2p size or smaller) on the floor in the back we need to sort before insulating.

pampas green?

 

Hi, I was told by the person i bought from the colour is avocado custom mixed by the painter, looks like pampas green now you mention it.

 

always difficult to tell from pics. i agonised for ages about which green ... as i do in the house
Even now i see a nice beryl or mango green and have pangs

 

We're also in Manchester - get it ready for Techenders in April and we can go down in convoy. Good luck with the resto.
