I changed my drivers side headlight bulb as it was not working and after fitting the new one - both side are now not working. Could it be the fuse has gone? If so what fuse(s) do I need to change for the headlights? Main beam and side lights work fine ... 1973 bus
ok - new fuses did not work ... i am back to square one with one working blub and one still not working after being replaced,,,, ug
Take the light off and test the power supply to the bulb plug. And check the terminals in the plug are where they should be. It could be that you have a dodgy bulb.
no ... the drivers one was not working ... so i changed that - then tried the lights (with ignition on) - then neither worked. then after changing the fuses the passenger one worked and the drivers one (with new bulb) did not ??
i had a fiddle with the wires under the dash over the weekend and the light is now working ... #dodgyoldelectrics
It'll probably be one of the earths under the dash. If you can't see under there then get a digital camera and take loads of pictures and have a look at them. (Post them up here if you need a hand) Worth sorting if you can otherwise you'll keep blowing fuses and have things working, intermittently. Also a bit of a fire risk if fuses don't blow and something shorts out ! Quite a lot of fires start from melting electrics ! It'll be S.o.d.s law that it will blow again just before your MOT, and at least it's nice weather at the moment and your fingers won't freeze while doing it !
