I have replace both handbrake cable conduits (the metal tubes attached to the chassis) but suspect I have left them too long at the rear. I am in the process of fitting new cables and I can’t get the rubber conduits that come with the cable to fit into the steel conduits without twisting and doubling them back. How long should the steel tubes be in relation to the rear torsion tube?

    I’ve just measured 2 vans both 72/73,

Between 270-290mm for both sides from the point where it emerges from the chassis rail.

Check you have removed everything from the brake drum too, there isnt a bit of the end of an old cable outer tubing there..
