Its so sad to see them rot away uncared for

  7. I did think about that last year but haven't got the time for a resto. So I looked abroad!

Apparently the story is that it was bought as birthday present/project. Should've stuck with the lego/socks methinks.

  8. Ten years is a long time not to do anything with it :(

  9. Moving swiftly on..

Door cards.. : sigh : The door cards are looking a little sorry for themselves, and 30 years of tired legs scuffing the bottom of the cards have left them a little worse for wear. The po kindly removed the door cards and ploythene skin when fitting the speakers, all fine if you live in Arkansas - whilst here in Wales, my doors are full of water - and door cards were getting soggy(er) :'( , so my task was to remove, clean door cavity, waxoil, and re-fit cards. Obviously this didn't happen and I decided to make some new door cards. I used the old door card as a template - used 3mm hardboard, 6mm scrim foam, beige vinyl and tan/honey vinyl and polythene sheets from ebay..

Apologies for the Marmite photos. They get worse as I get more impressed!

One down - quite chuffed with myself by now

    Job done.

Next step is to get some speakers (which will mounted in the door card) - glue and refit door handle, air vent etc.

Remove dash/dial pod. Here you can see the 'white led strips'.

Remove backing and stick in desired position (12, 3, 6, 9 and one above the petrol meter).

    6V

12V - let there be light!

Re-fit and re-wire, black/negative goes to earth ring on the back of the pod, red/positive goes to the small connection on the switch to keep the dimmer function.

Did you finish the door cards?

  13. Go and make a cuppa first.

    Ready? Deep breath. Go.

Door cards were finished a while back - but like most things, I deicided to create another job. The cab door/window seals are shot and so bought a set from C+C, then I thought I may aswell treat the rust spots on the doors and hell - why not get them reprayed.

I've rubbed down the spots, treated with Por 15 (which seems like very good stuff at the moment - time will tell) and awaiting paint. The doors are wrapped in blue tarpaulin to prevent water getting in.

I'm very happy with the outcome ^^^

I recieved a nice Elecsol 110Ah Leisure Battery as a birthday pressie and so another job was created :-
I removed the 110V USA outlet and am looking on creating my own - see below.

Laser cut ply with toggle switches, green led's will indicate use (on the left side)

With all this rain, I have notice a small leak coming from the windscreen seal - I have a new one, but am umming and arghing whether to replace the windscreen at the same time (it has a filled chip in the 'driver zone'...)

And now my windscreen motor has finally died - yup, another job created.

    1. Paint doors.
    2. Door seals.
    3. Leisure electrics.
    4. Wiper motor.
    5. Windscreen seal.
    6. Poss new windscreen.

    :( Frickin rain.
