I was watching the crows at Rownham services. They keep an eye on the bins outside McD's. One flew up, hung upside down, had a good look around, then carefully pulled out a chicken nugget box and dropped it on the ground. Prised it open with his beak, and was just about to tuck in when all his mates turned up. His meal just turned into a big crow fight. They're bloody clever.
I hate cormorants and herons you'd be amazed at the amount of damage they can do to a fishery, did you know cormorants are protected
Have you got another pic where we can see the wing? A siskin has stronger markings on its wings. As Bern said, a Siskin is about 3/4 the size of a Greenfinch. I can't tell from this pic.
We have a pair of Ravens that have a lot to say for themselves. Made us laugh when one pulled a squirrel across the lawn by it’s tail.
