  1. I know a few on here cannot abide these little chaps but I find them quite amusing if not a bit destructive.

but yesterday I was watching his feed box and saw the lid keep popping up but no squirrel.
I went to investigate and when i opened the lid a mouse jumped out.
Dont Know how long he had been in there

    But Squirrel attack lb.jpg
This is the damage the squirrels do when they cannot work out how to get to to the food
and the pink bit is the damage the mouse did trying to gnaw itself out of the box lid mouse attack lb.jpg

Isn’t that a Siskin? Very similar, but not a Greenfinch I think

That is definitely a siskin, which, as you correctly say is a green finch but not a greenfinch.

    I still reckon it's a female siskin.

You need to get a greenfinch and a Siskin to land next to each other. The Siskin is the smaller one :hattip:

I’m battling squirrels at the moment. So far this set up has thwarted them but it’s only a matter of time .....

  18. Loads of birds in our hedges - blackbird nesting in the front garden, wren and a wood pigeon in the back - greenfinches known as Linnetts round here - hence the nick name of the local footy team

Damn crows in my trees are driving me nuts, squawking all day starting at daybreak. Loads of the noisy sods, crapping on my cars too.

They are clever though, lobbing walnuts off the roof to crack them.
