Just the fuel gauge level indicator, but would go for whole dash clock if that's the only option. First person to tag Davidoft is off my Christmas card list ( unless you have one Dave, in which case you can mention yourself ) Cheers all. M
I wouldn't know what it's worth are you wanting me to try testing it? Or wanting it as is? Do you want the whole cluster or just the fuel gauge? Kind regards Andy
I’d be happy with just the gauge. Worth lots apparently. I’ll go with @brothernumberone and take the needle if he has it. It will save you breaking that dash cluster. Thank you for the offer.
I think its nichrome wire in there. 0.2mm ? As time goes on they will all go crispy and fall apart as the wire oxidises.
As it looks like Malc is sorted, I don’t feel quite so guilty for a brief thread hijack... I have the 74 onwards gauge, and it works pretty much okay, but unlike the one pictured in the cluster, in its ‘resting position’ the needle lurks way down out of sight - and then when I fill the tank up it disappears at the other end of the scale for a while. Basically its extremes of measure are way too extreme in each direction. I’m not particularly fussed but like to know stuff, so does the knowledgeable collective brain of TLB think this is the gauge, the voltage regulator or the fuel sender? Sometimes the needle just hides for the hell of it, and gets me thinking it’s finally dropped off, only to gradually reappear after a few miles....
