Front beam identification

Hi all, I just had delivered a used rust free beam, I questioned the seller to ensure it is lhd and for a late 74 bay to which he ensured me it is

I don't think it is,
please advise me as I will need to contact the seller

Just questioned the seller again and he has said it is a bay as it has a brake servo bracket, I don't think that is correct either

 

Looks like it is. Whats the bits sticking out the ends ? Someone cut the bump stops down ? Hard to tell from pics

 

That's a LHD beam .
It looks pretty solid and if yours hasn't got a servo it doesn't matter ...
What's your issue with it ?

I guess the bump stop sections, not sure whats going on there ???

 

I believe it's from a splitscreen the bump stops are different and there are no steering adjustment bolts,(not sure what they are called) I have Googled images and it only matches splitscreen and not late bay

 

It's totally rust free which is why I purchased it it's fantastic condition but just wrong bus

 

I agree about the bump stops but if it's for a split there wouldn't be a servo bracket unless it's an addition ?

I'm not sure the seller has agreed to a return, it's a shame if it could had been used it would have been worth it

 

I dont think all Bay beams have adjustable limit bolts.
Servos are Late Bay following USA requirements.

Swap steering damper bracket or weld on another to swap left to right hand,, and servo bracket if needed.

Those bump stop fixings look different though. Look splitscreen when you compare. . oh dear. Somebody fitted a servo to it a long way back.

The lhd part is fine as I have a lhd, all the images I've seen has the adjustable bolts the bump stops are totally different and are defo splitscreen, but I am a novice but I know it's different from my original

you just need Vw Brazil bump stops

 

What about the 2x adjuster bolts that are missing, do i need them , will all my other components fit and is it worth the 150 paid

 

As that one beam does splits and bays is it more likely that it could fit a German 68 bays and late splits but not a late bay?

 

Ok, it's a shame I'm going to return it for a refund, it was on eBay so just be careful in a weeks time when it goes back on

It fits a Brazilian split/bay van , the bolts are to far away from each other for split

 

But it does fit

Well now I'm confused,

Does it fit a 74 late bay lhd

Do I need the 2x adjuster nuts

Will all my other components fit this beam

If there's a possibility of it not fitting I would rather cut and run as I can spend 150 on hair extensions
