Friday Quickie Fuel Lines

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by AndyBcountry, Aug 7, 2020.

  1. I have my fuel lines connected to the fan housing feeding o e of my carbs. Just a thought..... might it over heat? Would it be better to route behind the fan and not directly attached?[IMG]

  2. Just to clarify. First pic is suggested Behind. Second pic as it is connected to front of fan

  3. The fuel line should always run below and up to the carb fuel inlet to stop syphoning.

  4. Problem is the fuelling goes up to the pressure reg and then down to the carbs.. will that be ok?

  6. Behind the fan shroud would be best, as long as it doesn't chafe. Mine actually runs along the top of the fan shroud, held with p-clips.

  7. Are you bothered about the temp of the fan shroud if hose is touching?

  8. The fan shroud doesn’t get hot.

Mine seemed really warm earlier. I’m assuming you mean the big black housing?? Sorry if I’m being thick

  11. So it would be ok to run the hose along the front?

  12. Here's mine, across the top.

  13. Yes ok I can do that. Just did a 30 min drive and the fan housing got up to 70. It’s running hot 150 what might be that? Cheers !!

If that's right you might need to change your oil becsuse that heat eill have ruined it.
    Then work out why.
Don't drive it until you've found a cause.
