@sANDYbAY Bob, would you make me some walnut dash pieces like yours please pretty please?

 

I might be persuaded to, but they take ages to sand and shape so they fit snugly.

 

I can do the final fit if you got them started?

Yes please, my lid's same as yours. On the dash I don't need a light, just the 3 instrument holes, it's LHD but I'm pretty sure that's same, but other way up.

 

If you pm me your address I'll cut a couple of pieces which will be slightly too large and I'll cut three holes in one piece which are slightly too small. That will enable you to use a dremel or something like that to sand and fit, sand and fit, sand and fit, sand and fit.......you get the idea.

 

Super, let me know when and I'll use it as an excuse to drive over for a cuppa.

 

Any afternoon after about 3, or Sunday's, just let us know. They would post easy enough though.

 

Sounds Ideal, I'm painting so have to keep stopping and waiting.

dash looks great with the coverings......my only reservation with the 'vent' speaker placement is that they direct towards the door glass....I'm sure they'll sound fine, but in an ideal world, you'd endeavour to angle the drivers towards your ears and add some time alignment when the right one is so close, relative to the left. I'd like to hear what a pair of 6 inch subs sound like in those fibreglass enclosures that @Kruger 's making....

 

Ahhh! I've thought of that. I've had the driver's seat welded into the walk through so both speakers are equidistant from my ears. It is a bit awkward steering and reaching the pedals but I'll get the hang of it.

I'm sure moving the seat and driver into the centre is a much better solution rather than just using the left/right balance control on the radio.
