?

Will I manage to pull the engine, fix the pipes, re-fit everything & drive to the body shop on time?

  1. Might build up to that one ;) but yeah cut my cloth now... so have a better idea of what's going on...so hopefully more things will slot into place now... and then who knows where the road will take me ;)

I've learnt though, posting pictures, helps you to learn faster!

You're right there, everyone like to look for oddities. You're lucky in another way which is that the air filter mount for the FI is the same as for a standard 1600 air filter, so you could very easily retro fit one of those instead of that cheap chrome pancake one you have. :)

Edit, sorry I must have been looking at another thread I can't see the stand after all. :(

...and if you want your firewall to be a firewall, I expect you have the "paint tin lid", but I'd also make something to fill the old FI gubbins hole

  5. It's all in hand.... after the breather thread I stuck up and was told about the pancake filter/lids/covers, I looked into it, and got hold of the standard filter so that I can sort other issues out correctly...

It's all about learning for me, and its getting there - the bus is good but can be better - I am taking steps to learn more about it - through here, and else where... so all helps :) keep looking for oddities...

It is for most people - step one - find out what's missing and put it back!

  14. Its amazing how much on any bus is actually missing
Testement to the original design that they keep on going with loads of bits missing

where did you get that workshop manual from , do they go into more detail than the bentley manual ?

  16. Oddly found it on here via the small ads... For me its the illustrations and the troubleshooting tables I always refer to in it...Bentley is a lot more detailed but it is worth it... I'll post a few pics shortly to show you what I mean..

  17. Here you go @Faust a few pictures from the workshop manual I looked at for familiarisation

Use it more for reference material as a lot of the how-to is written but the illustrations are worth there weight in gold on the exploded views for me..it helps me work out which order things need to come off..and what exactly I'm trying to look for.. For the £15 I paid for it, its defo paid for itself...
