Fosseway, not Fossewell http://www.fossewayperformance.co.uk/vw-late-bay-brake-upgrade/ It’s difficult to tell from the pics but they probably have a similar piston area as standard so the same clamping pressure. They’re fitted with EBC Ultimax pads with 30% larger area and should work well. But for £630 plus delivery they’re not exactly a cheap upgrade. @Mark Bodlmeade What engine do you have?
@Mark Bodlmeade have you seen this thread? https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/oh-front-brake-upgrade.73072/
I'm pretty certain the ratchet on a pedal thing was the clutch, the rear drum adjustors were inside the drum itself - at least that was the set up on a Cortina. I can't see how the ratchet could be on the actual brake pedal as that operates the master cylinder which is hydraulic
recently he asked about a biigger engine 1776 or 2110cc, but hasn't posted anymore on his original post or the other post i suggested for him. With those brakes he should go for at least 2110cc. Im 2110cc, with standard brakes - non servo!
Hmm maybe so. This was about 1983, but it was definitely one of the pedals. I just looked at Haynes. All the self adjusting mechanism on the Bays that have them seems to be inside the drum.
