Folding BBQ from Aldi

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by SeanOC, May 25, 2015.

  1. Been looking for a compact BBQ for Cyril that I could also possibly use as a fire pit. Loving my Weber at home I have been considering some serious options but didn't really like their size when not in use.

Wasn't at all impressed therefore when the wife walks in today with a £12.99 jobbie from Aldi!

But just fired it up and and I'm the Muppet!

Very compact when folded down, all stainless steel construction and good ventilation at the bottom and a 30 cm x 30 cm cooking area. Well worth a look if you just want something very compact to throw in the van. Only down side is that I suspect that it will burn the area it sits on, up goes the meadow!

  3. Good old Aldi , hit and miss sometimes but have been eyeing this up myself ...but really don't need it ..

  4. I have an identical make I bought last year from some camping shop for around £16, Been great as both BBQ and little fire pit, used it loads and its still all OK so think this ALDI one should be OK too. Once its cold in the morning you just empty it, fold it away and it has a zipped bag so the bus stays clean too...
    Nice buy for £12

  5. That's it, has a great little fold away bag

  6. We have pretty much the same thing bought online. Very useful and folds away nice and compact.
If you want something bigger however go to Lidl, they have a folding jobbie with twice the cooking area for £15 which I can highly recommend. Got one the other day and after coming away on Saturday have used it every night. When folded it goes into a box about an inch thick, though it's about 18" square, still easily stowed when packing.

  9. It's ok, I put my Lidl shopping in Waitrose bags before I get home so as not to upset the neighbours;)
