First start up

  1. Just started it up for the first time, up the key, idled, albeit roughly and rev’d to 2000rpm. Oil pressure 3bar at idle.
    Dry as a bone.

    Really chuffed here.

This is about a big thank you to all who helped and answered my questions, some of which we’re quite obvious.

  4. This was a test build to both set up the carbs for a 2k Rev run for the next engine a 2056 with 35 cam, and pistons. But also to prove I could build a ACVW successful having built water cooled engines from 120BHP - 66kBHP, every one different. Yes, next engine will go in the Ghia with upright cooling. I’ll probably sell this one at some point.

    Thanks for your help.

I’d like to see that 66,000 bhp monster – ship engine?

  7. this exceeds 80K shaft horse power but gives you some idea of size, being able to stand inside an open turbo charger casing says it all really. The largest ship I actually served on was 51K shaft horse power 22 knots at 120rpm. The first ship I served on it took two people to lift an exhaust valve spring lol, I'll stop now.

  8. Well it was just as smoky, much more noisey, and just a little more steady on the trolley. I was actually nervous, lol
