Finally popped my cherry!!

  1. Not what you're thinking! :-[


    Plucked up the courage (mainly due to ongoing saga trying to find a mechanic at short notice! see other thread) and got the spanners out.


    Pored over the Haynes manual, spent ages meticulously looking over the van and trying to match up those tiny black and white photos (lucky my van is black and white! ;) ).


    Though "to hell with it" and started working on the van.......










    ........15 minutes later I'd adjusted the handbrake. Gone from 13 clicks to 7 clicks, and more importantly can hold the van when parked. I thought this last bit will be really useful whilst the vans on the ferry to France.


    So finally done some mechanicing on my van. I have become a man! 8) Karma for everyone. Good times!


    Now just need to change the battery and I'm set.

    Got a nice long list of other stuff, but will leave that to the experts. :)

    I find it really rewarding to the work myself and it saves cash to spend on 8) bits

    It's weird, but I really do feel really good about the bus having done something myself. Strange how something so simple can make you feel so happy. :D
