Thanks for the welcome... Sorry to the FI fans. I'm a big fan of originality but I also like to have a good chance of arriving where I intend to go... My type 4 just wasn't revving up...fabulous on the carbs. I have kept the FI....sharing a box with the FI off my other type 4 engine which also runs on carbs I really like the colour - there seems to be a bit of 'discussion' on what it actually is. I have the original bill of sale and a brochure too which is pretty cool - colour stated in the brochure is Sage Green. The original interior was lovely too but that has been removed and placed in a box. Replaced by NLA VW that seems pretty good... look forward to being on here

Had the gearbox rebuilt and an aircooled engine builder works with us so obvs the engine has been rebuilt too... Mike at Vintage Volkshaus built me a custom exhaust - even so the car is actually very stock. Had a full bare metal paint last December so looks great and drives fabulously
§ Well - "run 914" is still an aspiration, but maybe one day soon! See https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/two-seater-targa-topped-bus-restoration-914.75583/ for the story so far. Meanwhile here's a picture of the cosmologist genius Carl Sagan with his....
