    One thing at first is not to spend out money without understanding why you need to spend it.


    Also if you replace stuff because you can, keep the old parts for a while while you discover a new part is actually worse than the worn out old one. .. Like unless it leaves the bus as a bucket of rust, keep it.

    You may find the really important purchases are not those that are recommended by the garage : for instance:

    The dead fridge might just be a bad switch or similar.

    With fuel pumps there are good ones and bad ones .. the cheap ones may not be too good.

    However, the fuel cutoff solenoid is a good idea.

    And fit a 1kg or bigger fire extinguisher somewhere accessible. Even if you fit an auto extinguisher in the engine bay (good idea) , sometimes burning stuff gets out of the engine bay.
