Exhaust options...

  1. Hi everyone, just joined the forum and wanted to ask opinions on whats available exhaust wise for static slammed vans?

I've just transplanted my rebuilt 2056 CU into my 69 EB with late bay fanshroud, engine bar etc so is similar to a late bay but with a little less room to play with...

I've chucked on a set of T25 heat exchangers and muffler just to run it in but its real close to the floor and sticks out miles after the rear valance.

My other question is, are wedge heat exhangers longer than the 79 bay ones?

Yes they are longer. An inch or two?

Do you think your type-4 will get enough air? One of the reasons I sold my 68 was doubt about that when I wanted a cool running type-4.

After all, the bigger squarer air intakes on the Late Bay were made specifically because the fan on the T4 engine shifts significantly more air.

  5. Im sure it'll be fine, understandably VW made some much better improvements for airflow through the side vents hense the change but as it wont be a daily I cant see it causing to many issues... Time will tell ;)
