i have too but i'm totally lost with reading diagrams or following troubleshooting guides i'm stabbing in the dark when it comes to stuff like this

  5. If you want I can pop over and @davidoft can talk me through any checks/ adjustments if you need sometime away from it?

  6. It calls for fuel from the pump when it needs it to fire. I had this same issue with the FI I had, 3counties dinner fixed it for me, it was a loose hose on the AFM, it would turn it would spark but it wouldn't run and through this the pump wouldn't pump fuel because there was something else in the system telling it not to

sounds plausible as we had to remove every pipe on the afm and all around it, we replaced most with new pipes but all are located tightly it's doubtful as any went on wrong as they are all pretty well shaped to fit certain places

Ricky, have you kept the old pipework?
Something in the back of my mind says that some of the ID/OD combinations on some gash looking original pipework is fairly critical for sending signals to the relevant electrickery.

I got that far on the black and white wiring diagram in the Haynes, but it was getting cold and we'd had enough. I expect by now we'd have it going, but also could have spend 3 hours getting colder and nothing much else. Wasn't in the mood to learn about FI this evening, it's been a busy weekend.

no, a lot of it was crakced and held together with tape, we thought it was just air pipe so replaced with petrol pipe etc.

Like for like old bean - diameter-wise, what we put back was all as it should be. It's either the air flow meter or the relays I'd bet. Fuel pump wasn't pumping whatever we did, either ignition on or starting. :(

  13. Ricky you know the square white plugs on the underside of the double relay thing I had a loose spade on mine once and it wouldn't start, try that. :)

  14. Did opening the flap make the pump start?

someone else needs to volunteer to go over and take the glory, we've done all the hard graft and now need someone with brains. :)

Didn't bother to check, we gave up at that point.

  17. There was a point where if I just wobbled those connectors on mine the engine would cut out. Cleaned up all the contacts in there and it's fine now - and I think it actually starts quicker too!

  18. Just thinking it might narrow things down, if the pump works with the ig on and flap open, then the relay and wiring must be ok?

have to agree here, both me and zed are at a loss - no offence to zed but we are chasing our ass on this now, the manual mauling is done, the bus is on it's wheels and ready to run (bar atf in the box) someone who knows please let me know if you can help.
