Hello All, Been a while since i last posted, still have the bus and have started restoring again. I was wondering if anyone could help with the pic below? This part of the engine bay has been cut out of my bus from previous owner and i was wondering if it is needed? what is the big circle - hole there for? Sorry if this is obvious but i haven't a clue what it is for, cant seem to find a replacement repair panel, possibly have to buy a cut? Hope you dont mind Martinvention, this is a pic i have taken from your resto, it was the best one!! Thanks
Big hole is an access panel for the fuel filler neck. I’d suggest it gives some strength and stability to that rear corner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks guys, @3901mick I take it this panel cannot be purchased complete? I'm not the best at fabricating panels, anybody any idea if this can be bought as a repair panel? Thanks
Its quite a complicated pressing, but I dont really see why it needs to be. What about just putting a 90 degree bend in some 1.5mm sheet and blocking it off? You will need to retain access to the fuel filler pipe from the inside (that's what the big round hole is for).
So managed to get the pic the right way, as you can see it is the part with the circle that is missing. @davidoft would you have a cut of this? Thanks
